In recent months I have been working closely with the School and the SPOC Executive Committee to review the vision, purpose and mission of St Peter’s Old Collegians. During the process three key strategic pillars were identified with reflect both our traditions and aspirations for the future direction of SPOC.
In the future, we look forward to delivering new ways to strengthen our community, engage more meaningfully with our global membership base and continue building on our robust and productive partnership with the School.
I am delighted to share that we are partnering with Healthy Minds, co-founded by old scholar Nick Lee (DAC 1986) and Dr Tom Nehmy, to launch a new series of events focused on supporting the wellbeing, resilience and connection of our Old Scholar community. As part of Mental Health Month, we will be hosting the first session in the series – a wellbeing webinar designed to offer practical strategies that we believe may be useful to old scholars at every stage of life. Over five days, from Wednesday 4 November to Sunday 8 November, the School is hosting a celebration of our old scholars, traditions and community at Back to Saints 2026. A few highlights include the Old Blues Lunch on Friday the 6th, the Combined Milestone Reunion on Saturday the 7th, and an Industry Insights Forum on Sunday the 8th, presented by former School Captain and Global Chief Innovation Officer at Baker McKenzie, Ben Allgrove (W&A 1995). Our clubs are the heart and soul of the old scholars’ community, and we encourage the SPSC Year 12 Leavers to stay connected, embrace competition, and continue finding joy in sport through SPOC, its Clubs and Societies. Congratulations to each of the recipients of the 2026 SPOC Sports Awards:
As we look to the future, I encourage all Old Scholars to stay connected, get involved and help us build an even stronger SPOC community for generations to come.
