As we approach the end of the year, I’m pleased to look back on the many highlights that have shaped our old scholar community in 2025.
This year we’ve had the joy of sharing many milestone moments with our old scholars - reunions, baptisms, weddings and significant birthdays, all of which remind us of the lifelong bond Saints boys carry with the School. A heartfelt congratulations goes to those who celebrated their 100th birthdays: Dr R Hecker AM (FLL 1941) and Mr J Abbott (WDK 1942).

We were also delighted to welcome Mr R Carter (MAC 1958) and his wife Rosemary back to the School Chapel on their 60 Year Wedding Anniversary.

The Milestone Reunion brought together old friends, teachers and classmates from the Classes of 1975, 1985, 1995 & 2005. The evening was filled with laughter, storytelling and good times. A special thanks to Tom Harley (DAC 1995) for his toast to the School on behalf of the old scholars.

Old scholar chapter events were held across the globe in Singapore, London and New York City, hosted by Headmaster Tim Browning. We also travelled interstate to Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, as well as regionally to the Yorke and Eyre Peninsula.

A long standing tradition continued this year with the Old Blues Lunch held in conjunction with the Class of 1965 Reunion on Wednesday 8 October. It was a an afternoon filled with many special moments, as some old scholats recommnected with classmates for the fist time in 60 years.

The inaugural Back to Saints event took place at the School from Friday 31 October - Sunday 2 November. The three-day celebration of our old scholars, traditions and community was well attended by old scholars. It was wonderful to see the shared moments of connection across generations throughout the weekend. From the Senior School Muster - where old scholars were honoured as distinguished guests - to the casual Sundowners at Main Oval, the Milestone Reunion in Memorial Hall, and the SPOC Motor Club 'Show & Shine Day' on Lloyd Oval, the entire weekend was a heartfelt celebration of connection, camaraderie and Saints spirit. Many of you would fondly remember former teacher Jon Inge. He returned to the School last week to share some words of wisdom at Speech Day. Read his full speech here.
Reconnecting with the School and your peers goes well beyond reunions. Our thriving sporting clubs welcome new players, chapter events regularly take place locally, interstate and overseas, and there are many meaningful ways to support current students - from the CEO in Residence Program to Ethics Workshops, Careers Evening and Buddy Up Program.
The School is currently seeking expressions of interest from old scholars and wider Saints community to share their professional experience at the School's Careers Evening, helping students and parents explore future pathways across a broad range of industries; click here to find out more and register your interest here. There is also an opportunity to get involved in the Buddy Up Program, which is making a lasting impact on children with disability in our community. Find out more here.
We genuinely love hearing from old scholars - sharing in your stories, supporting your life journey and helping you reconnect with the Saints community. We invite you to get in touch via email at spoc@stpeters.sa.edu.au or by calling +61 8 8404 0526
