From Friday 31 October to Sunday 2 November the inaugural Back to Saints event brought together old scholars, staff and families for a heartwarming celebration of connection, tradition and community.
On Friday afternoon we gathered in Memorial Hall, as old scholars from peer years 1950 to 2009 joined current students for a traditional Senior School Muster. The program featured performances from our student musicians, an oratory presentation and an inspiring video of the Buddy Up service learning initiative, reflecting the School’s ongoing commitment to compassion and leadership.
Following the Muster, guests enjoyed guided school tours led by members of the leadership team before gathering in the Big Quad Cloisters for afternoon tea. The fine weather set the tone for a relaxed evening of Sundowners and Cricket on Main Oval, where old scholars shared stories and laughter beneath the blue and white umbrellas.
Saturday evening saw 200 guests from the Classes of 1975, 1985, 1995, and 2005 return for their Milestone Reunion Dinner. Memorial Hall was alive with conversation and laughter as friends reunited and reminisced about their school days. The presence of former teachers including Mr MacKenzie, Mr Docwra, Mr Wells, Mr Inglis and Mr Roe added a special touch of nostalgia.
On Sunday morning Father Theo McCall led a reflective Chapel Service, followed by the SPOC Motor Club’s Show & Shine Day on Lloyd Oval. While wet weather may have kept a few at bay, car enthusiasts and families still turned out in strong numbers to admire the display and enjoy the community gathering. The SPOC Music 18 piece big band proudly led by our old scholars, filled the afternoon with vibrant energy and joy through their performances.
The Back to Saints weekend was a true celebration of the bonds that unite generations. It was a time to share stories, rekindle friendships, and honour the traditions that continue to shape our community. View the photo gallery here.
We are busy planning the program for next year and have locked in the dates: Back to Saints will be held from Friday 6 November to Sunday 8 November 2026. We hope you and your families will join us for an even bigger celebration of the Saints community!
