Cricket season is only just around the corner with SPOC playing our first game on October 7th. Pre-season is well underway with the squad training Monday and Thursday nights at Adelaide Oval and Saturday mornings at the Girdlestone. The numbers have been strong with average of 15 – 20 in attendance and more starting to show their heads as winter sport wraps up.

SPOC will again field 4 teams this season, two 2-day sides, a one day team and a T20 team. We’re excited that Henry Cameron will be able to assist with coaching when he isn’t occupied with his duties as First XI coach at the School. Henry is a very experienced coach who has played cricket at high level both here and overseas, his appointment at the School is fantastic news for the whole of the Saints Cricket community. We look forward to working with Henry and wish him and the School Boys all the very best for Term 4.

This will be the 92nd year of SPOC Cricket and there are plenty of positive signs for the year ahead. Whether you’re a recent school leaver or perhaps have left the pads gathering dust in the shed for a few years, all those from the SPOC community who are interested in being part of the SPOC Cricket Club are warmly welcomed.

If you’d like to keep in touch with Club activity, please email us at spoccricket32@gmail.com to receive our fortnightly newsletters, and follow us on our Facebook and Instagram sites. You can also join the SPOC Cricket group on SPOC Connect here.

Thanks to the School and the Old Scholars Association for their ongoing support and we look forward to seeing you all during the season.
