On Thursday 12 March, 75 old scholars, representing peer years from 1953 to 2025, returned to St Peter’s College for the Generations Lunch & Muster - a truly special gathering that celebrated connection across the decades.
The day began with a guided tour of the Big Quad and Year 12 Precinct, led by School Captain Archie Braithwaite and Vice-Captain Henry Burton. As our old scholars walked the familiar grounds, conversations started - stories were shared, family ties rediscovered, and a strong sense of community rekindled.
Guests then gathered for a seated lunch in the historic Da Costa Dining Hall, where Headmaster Tim Browning offered a warm welcome. It was a joyful occasion, as old scholars reunited with their student relatives; sons, grandsons, nephews and brothers, highlighting the enduring bonds that span generations. For some families, three generations of Saints boys were present, with these meaningful moments captured in photographs that will be treasured for years to come.
Following lunch, old scholars made their way to Memorial Hall alongside their student relatives to attend the Senior School Muster - a special gathering of Saints boys past and present. As honoured guests, each old scholar was acknowledged by name, House and peer year, a fitting tribute to their lasting connection to the School. Former and current staff who are part of our old scholar community were also honored on the day. The familiar sound of 'The Saints Go Marching In' filled the hall as students rose to their feet in applause, offering a heartfelt farewell to our old scholars as they departed Memorial Hall.
A particularly touching moment of the day saw former teachers Mr Fred Danielsen and Mr Norm Inglis reunited, some 50 years after their time at St Peter’s College. Sitting together on a bench overlooking Main Oval, they shared quiet conversation and reflection. Many old scholars would fondly remember time spent in their Mathematics classrooms, making this reunion all the more meaningful.
It was a pleasure to welcome back so many old scholars and former staff. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the enduring spirit of the School, and the shared pride in its traditions, values and community that continues to unite generations of Saints boys.
