SPOC: When was Evans & Ayers established, and why are you a SPOC Partner?
AJ: We were established in 1881 and provide services to everyone. You are a member of the St Peters College community forever so our SPOC Partnership is a way of contributing to the entire St Peters College community from cradle to grave.
SPOC: What sets Evans & Ayers apart from other accounting and financial services firms? What unique value do you provide to your clients?
AJ: Evans & Ayers hold dear the St Peters College values of truth, respect and service. We are a professional service firm providing independent advice and services. We don’t receive commissions from banks or suppliers.
SPOC: As the director of an accounting and financial services firm, you have a keen perspective on the current landscape. What do you perceive as the most promising opportunities and significant challenges within the industry at this time?
AJ: The greatest opportunity is for firms who care and provide personal service. More and more firms use offshore staff without local training or local knowledge. Many firms are just selling a promise without the ability to deliver. Service suffers and so does the client. Evans & Ayers remains a local firm. Our team are well travelled with significant experience but are local providing genuine personal service.
SPOC: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
AJ: Be nice to your mother
Our thanks to Andrew Jonats and Evans & Ayers for their ongoing support. We ask our members to support our partners whenever they have the opportunity.
