Saints v Princes Old Scholars Boat Race
The only Torrens title worth getting wet for.
Eight old boys. One cox. Plenty of unsolicited advice.
After more than 20 years, the Blackmore Club and Prince Alfred Old Collegians Rowing Club are bringing back the annual Old Scholars Boat Race.
The original trophy has disappeared, memories are hazy and both sides remain absolutely certain they used to win. So, we’ve commissioned a new trophy, found some modern boats and invited three generations to settle the matter:
Join us on Saturday 17 October | Racing from 4.00 pm | Adelaide Rowing Club
Crews will race from the Weir towards Elder Park, finishing at the Oval Footbridge, with refreshments available from the Club bar and a barbecue after the racing.
Bring family, friends, and your best cheering voice. Everyone is welcome - even cricketers.
Henley has its royal enclosure. We have a barbecue - and a rivalry neither side has grown out of.
Come for the racing. Stay for the excuses.
