The SPOC Football Club is nearing the halfway mark of the season, with the A Grade sitting in seventh on the Division One ladder with two wins, a draw against the reigning premier and five losses. Led by old scholars in Edward Allan (WDK 2016), Henry Nelligan (SCH 2019) and Malachy Carruthers (WDK 2020), the As have been competitive right until the end against quality opposition and will be looking to reverse a couple of results that haven't gone our way in the latter half of the year. Meanwhile, the B and C Grade sides have received an injection of youth and are improving every week; both sides are sitting just outside the top five and are only behind on percentage.

The SPOC Footy Club is delighted to present its 2026 Showdown Lunch on Friday 26 June 2026 at The HWY Hotel.

Special guest speakers are Tim Silvers, Adelaide Crows CEO and Matthew Richardson, Port Power CEO with Channel Nine's Tom Rehn the Master of Ceremonies. Adelaide Crows legend and current media personality Rory Sloane will also share their Showdown experiences and life after footy, exclusively for members of the SPOC community in this private event.

Old scholar Hugo Toovey will also share his story, including the purpose of his charity "25 Stay Alive" which promotes the benefits of early detection, health awareness, and getting people to take action when something doesn’t feel right. "25 Stay Alive" is the Charity Event Partner and Hugo is also speaking with all players in early June to share his message.

A $150 'general admission' ticket will include a fantastic 4 hour food and wine package, with fine wines from SPOC Footy Club Wine Partners.

2026 SPOC FC True Blue & Always Blue Members can purchase a ticket (with the same food and beverages) for $125, whilst registered SPOC FC players can purchase a ticket for $75.

The lunch is a fundraiser event for the SPOC footy club, so there will be plenty of opportunities to buy raffle tickets, participate in an auction and hear about plans for the future of the club.

Tickets are now on sale here.

The Past Players' Day is also coming up - Saturday 8 August will be one of the best, most underrated days of the year for the Football Club.We celebrate the following premiership sides:

- 1986 A7 Res
- 1996 A1
- 2011 Div 2A | This side didn’t get a 10-year due to COVID
- 2016 C2
- 2021 C8

More details will come soon, please follow our SPOC FC Instagram and Facebook pages for all event and club news.
