It has been a busy start to the year for SPOC Music, with our inaugural Fringe Performance ‘A Night of Jazz with SPOC Music’ featuring our 18-piece Big Band. The event drew a crowd of over 160 attendees, bringing together members of the SPOC community and music lovers from the wider public to share in an unforgettable celebration of music.
The evening featured a wide range of classic jazz standards, swing, blues, and many others, with many of our members showcasing their musical chops with impressive solos (and instrumental battles!).

Special thanks to guest soloist Emil Ryjoch (HWD 2013) for joining us on stage and being the featured saxophonist on two of our pieces.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to introduce new ensembles and expand opportunities for old scholars, the wider SPSC community, and even non-SPOC musicians to join our growing musical family. With more gigs on the horizon, there’s plenty to look forward to!
