Saints Athletics Club has had an exceptionally strong 12 months, highlighted by multiple international appearances and several state record performances. As we look ahead to another exciting year, we welcome back Brooke Hines for another term as Club President; she is the first female President in the club’s history.

Three Old Scholars, Adam Goddard (YNG 2021, 1500m), Aidan Murphy (FRR 2020, 200m) and Jonathan Harris (FRR 2023, 200m), all members of Saints Athletics Club, made up half of the state’s team that competed at the World University Games in Germany earlier this year. All three delivered excellent performances at an international level progressing to the finals in their events. The most notable performance of the season was Adam’s run in Italy where he broke the state 1500m record set in 1999, a mark held by an Olympian who had raced the current world record holder.

To further highlight the club’s success, earlier this year at the National Championships three club members qualified for the Open 1500m final, an exceptional achievement for any club. Heading into the new season, Darcy Miller has kept the momentum going, unleashing a huge 58.73m throw to break the open state discus record, a mark that had stood since 1980!
