PLAYER AND COACH SIGNINGS
The focus for the off-season remains the retention of existing players & coaches and the signing new players & coaches for the 2025 season.
The club was challenged at times in 2024 by a lack of player numbers which was mainly evident in the C grade with several forfeits required, as that team made the sacrifice to move players up to the B grade (who of course moved players to the A grade).
So this year we’re very pleased that a large number of Year 12 school leavers have already signed up for the 2025 season and we’re hearing that some ‘familiar’ faces will be returning to the club too, which is fantastic news.
More A grade players have also re-signed for next year and we’re really pleased that the 2024 B grade coach, Sam Walters, has decided to coach the B’s again. Our coaching team for the A’s and B’s for 2025 is looking really strong already and we’re looking to lock in a C grade coach in coming weeks.

We’re delighted to confirm Tye is returning for 2025.
PETER THATCHER JOINS THE COACHING DEPARTMENT
Another big addition to SPOC FC’s coaching department, with Peter Thatcher joining the club for the 2025 season, assisting the B grade squad.
ABOUT PETER
Peter’s another fantastic addition to the coaching department and he will provide extremely valuable support to our returning B grade coach Sam Walters, the footy department and club in general.
Peter’s football experience includes the role of SANFL Football Operations Co Ordinator (responsible for all aspects of SANFL Juniors competition management) and a match day Team Manager with Norwood’s U16 / U14 squads and coaching staff, as well as Admin Assistant to the Norwood U16 Head Coach and Talent Manager.
Please join with us in welcoming Peter to the club.
In our next newsletter we’ll confirm another member of the coaching team who’s returning after the 2024 season + the return of another assistant coach for the 2025 season.
2024 AGM
Members are advised that the 2024 AGM will be held at The Maid on Thursday 12 December at 5pm.
The AGM pack will be sent via email to all Members this week.
All Members, players and supporters of the Club are invited to attend the AGM and stay for drinks afterwards.
