SPOC Footy Club is delighted to announce the start of a new era with the signing of an alliance with Wilderness Old Scholars Association Football (WOSA).

WOSA is a brand-new footy team who will play as our fourth SPOC team, playing in the Adelaide Footy League Women's competition. While WOSA will become part of our Club, its team will be branded as WOSA and play as WOSA in the WOSA colours. Some may know of the existing, successful Loreto Old Scholars Association x Rostrevor Old Collegians model and our WOSA x SPOC model will be similar.

The Committee has been looking to embrace women's footy as part of a broader strategy to grow and strengthen our Club, on and off-field. We are confident that our alliance with WOSA is a great choice to meet this ambition and both Clubs are both really excited about playing together in the 2025 season. WOSA will be self-managing and self-funding and will benefit from sharing expert management oversight from us as a long standing, successful Division One club. This low-risk model allows SPOC and WOSA to gain the benefits, and without SPOC FC incurring any material financial risk or operational burden. This model is strongly supported by current coaches, players and the Committee.

WOSA will be entered as a SPOC team in Women's Adelaide Footy League in the 2025 season, subject to meeting ADFL rules and regulations, which the Clubs are confident about meeting. WOSA will train and play their home games on the Wilson Oval, with the aim to fixture WOSA's home games alongside our men on Saturday matchdays.

WOSA will attend post-match presentations at The Maid, be included in our community events and be a part of our great Club. They will have a separate management team and will be responsible for appointing their own coach and support team and for signing up their players.

WOSA and SPOC are committed to work hard to prepare for the 2025 season and to make it a success for both clubs.  We encourage all SPOCCO's past and present to really get behind this great initiative.  We believe that WOSA x SPOC builds a bigger, better Club for all.

We will share further details soon about this exciting alliance with WOSA Football, including how players can try out for WOSA in December. In the meantime, anyone interested in getting involved in either on on-field or off-field role can register interest here.
