SPOC Footy competed with 3 teams in the Adelaide Footy league in 2024. Our A's performed well in the highly contested top Division for the sixth year in a row, finishing on an upswing with a young list bravely fighting its way to a couple of memorable victories, including against the then undefeated minor premiers. The future beckons brightly for this group of young footballers. Similarly, our B's fought hard as another young group and built impressive performances over the season. Our C's battled with insufficient numbers and this was addressed by recruiting current School students to play with us, as School games permit. Over 40 students played this season and they will be welcomed into the Club next season.
The Club relies entirely on the service of numerous volunteers and the generous financial support of its sponsors and coteries, with the majority of these drawn from old scholars and current parents. Our social events continue to be popular, with Ladies Day enthusiastically attended and our major fundraiser, our Showdown Lunch also well supported - for the first time guests attended from the School, the School Foundation and numerous School Footy parents. The Club and the School are working closely to offer students and their families an enjoyable and inclusive footy club pathway, on leaving School.
