SPOC v PAOCA Winter Intercols

The St Peter’s Old Collegians thanks the convenors and players for taking part in the Winter Intercols this year.

There is some talk of adding darts and table tennis to the Intercol competitions in 2023. Please email if you are interested in being a convenor or taking part.


The 49th SPOC vs PAOC Intercol badminton was a series of exciting matches that resulted in SPOC taking the victory 7-2. Well done to our players and thank you to convenor Isaiah Luc (HWD 2015) for organising our side.


It was a series of great games at the 2022 Intercol Basketball. Congratulations to all our players and convenor William Strangways (HWK 1957) and to PAOCA As for winning the Caronia Cup.

Congratulations to the SPOC Chess team who won the SPOC v PAOCA Intercol this year. Thanks to SPOC convenor Stephen Daenke (HWK 2012) and all those who represented SPOC and PAOCA for a great evening.


The SPOC V PAOC Intercol Football match was held on Saturday 9 July on Caterer Oval, St Peter’s College. Unfortunately, SPOC didn’t get the win in the A Grade (SPOC 65 def by PAOC 77). SPOC Best: Pope, Hargreaves, Kelsh, E Allan and O’Brien. SPOC Goals: O’Brien 3, J McLeay 2, H Allan 1, Gibson 1, N McGill 1, Schultz 1. Thanks to all the supporters who cheered the boys on and congratulations to PAOC who retained the trophy this year.


It was a great day at Royal Adelaide Golf Club for the annual Old Scholars’ Intercol Golf Day. SPOC were victorious, taking home ‘The Rymill Cup’. Thank you to all participants, convenors and Hewitson Wines for supporting the event.


The Old Scholars 2022 snooker event saw a welcome return to the Naval and Military Club on Thursday 28 July. A total of 20 matches were scheduled with the winner being declared once one team achieved 11 wins. Some of the matches were quite close however SPOC played well under pressure and secured the win. The final score was SPOC 11 matches to PAOCA 5 matches. Highest break of the event was 22, achieved by our snooker convenor, Jason Ahmad. A big thank you to Nick Blanche and Thomas Radford, the convenors for PAOCA. Both gentleman to the core and good players who ensured the event was played competitively but in excellent spirit. Finally, well done and thank you to all the SPOC players who all played extremely well on the night. These include Andy Paull (SHT 1987), Michael Brock (YNG 1971), Karl Kirsten (YNG 1992), Jon Cocks (Farrell 1973), Jason Ahmad (FLL 1987), Richard Colley (WDK 1977), Jock Gilbert (W&A 1970)and Jeff Easley (YNG 1973).
