Saints Community Golf Day

Karl Kirsten (YNG 1992) takes home the Saints Community Golf Day handicap Cup and Tom Skipper (HWK 1997), the non-handicap Trophy.

It was a perfect morning for the Saints Community Golf day on Friday 25 February 2022. Jon Silcock, convenor, welcomed 60 participants and sent them off for an 8 am shotgun start.

The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is a superb course, and many explored more of the course than others. The group was a mix of old scholars, Saints staff and current and past parents (one pair travelling from Victoria).

When the players began to trickle in to the club house, Jon Silcock took score cards and players made their way to the bar, taking in the view from the club’s veranda area, catching up with old friends and comparing points.

Lunch was served in the dining room where Jonny Silcock awarded bottles of Hewitson Shiraz as prizes to those who were closest to the pin and for the longest drive. We were pleased to have ever supportive Dean Hewitson on hand to say a few words.

Also playing was Tim Browning, Headmaster who gave a short speech sharing news of the School. Tim also noted the sense of community and the deep connection felt to Saints by all of those present.

We congratulate old scholars Karl Kirsten (YNG 1992) on winning the Saints Community Golf Day handicap Cup and Tom Skipper (HWK 1997) for winning the non-handicap Saints Community Golf Day Trophy.

Thanks again to Jon Silcock for convening the Saints Community Golf Day and to Hewitson for the prizes.

We are pleased to confirm next year’s Saints Community Golf Day will be held at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club on Friday 24 February 2023. All welcome.
