Old Scholar Liaison, Philip Marshall (SHT 1964) hosts regular lunches and tours ending with afternoon tea with Tim Browning, Headmaster. It was a pleasure to welcome a small group of old scholars back to the School to visit Palm House.

Outside what was our Grade 3 and 4 classrooms

“I was amazed at the extent that educational facilities have improved since our days at Palm House. Our class was a single room no bigger than main bedrooms of the day – and we thought nothing of it.”

“The young boys were delightful and inquisitive … and amazed that in our day we could buy a finger bun for lunch for less than 5 cents (actually sixpence).” Rob Skipper

The coconut trees that gave Palm House its name … and mini coconuts which we would collect, crack open and eat!

“It was great to visit Palm House after sixty plus years, sharing wonderful memories with old friends and it was a most impressive and enjoyable day.“ James Johnson
