St Peter’s College is a school with a rich tapestry of history and tradition. Founded in 1847, just 11 years after South Australia was established, the School owes its establishment to its early benefactors who had the foresight to create an institution that would foster the development of the colony. Since then, benefaction has provided for the School’s ongoing advancement, growth and renewal as well as providing needs-based scholarship opportunities for talented and promising students.
In 2022, thanks to the incredible generosity of the St Peter's College community, over 325 members of our community raised in excess of $585,000 through the School’s 175 Years of Giving appeal to support future generations. As our culture of philanthropy grows, it is comforting to know that the School will be sustained for the next 175 years by gifts made today.
Like generations of students who have benefited from the generosity of our forebears, so too will future generations benefit from gifts made today. The ongoing renewal of the School, including the newly redeveloped Big Quad precinct and increased scholarship opportunities, have only been made possible due to the enormous generosity of our community in recent years. At the start the 2023 academic year, St Peter's College will welcome the first recipient of the 175 Year Anniversary Scholarship, established through the overwhelming support of the School's inaugural Giving Day in 2021.
Scholarships have added depth and value to our community since 1869 and have fundamentally changed the course of many lives.
