Acts of generosity have sustained our School since it was first founded in 1847. This year, our Annual Giving Appeal is named in honour of one of our own.

A culture of giving has been at the heart of St Peter's College for generations. Acts of generosity have sustained our School since it was first founded in 1847. This year, our Annual Giving Appeal is named in honour of one of our own - the St Peter's College Foundation Thomas Worrall Scholarship - in memory of Year 9 student Thomas Worrall.

Thomas had been part of our community for almost nine years before he passed away earlier this year. He will be forever remembered as a warm hearted, committed and enthusiastic student and keen rower.

With the support of Thomas' family, this scholarship has been established to create a legacy in his name and will acknowledge both Thomas and the Worrall family's contribution to our School community.

To be offered from 2024, the scholarship will enable a student, who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend our School, to commence in Year 9 and be supported in their studies and co-curricular activities through to the completion of Year 12.

The importance of scholarships like these cannot be overstated. They create opportunities for talented and promising students, regardless of circumstance or background, to pursue. As has been the case since 1869, the School remains committed to creating opportunities like the Thomas Worrall Scholarship, to ensure a deserving student has access to exceptional academic, co-curricular and service learning opportunities.

Reflecting on his own experience, one of our donors, a former recipient of a similar scholarship, shared, "I joined St Peter’s College in Year 9 in 1964 on a similar scholarship. The all-round education I received has stood me in good stead for life. I hope my gift will go some small way to helping someone deserving enjoy the benefits I have had."

This is but one example of the life changing impact a St Peter’s College scholarship can have on one’s life and serves as inspiration in our quest to create further scholarship opportunities that add depth and value to our community.

I thank our community of old scholars for supporting this important endeavour and encourage every old scholar, of every year, to make a donation by visiting our website at www.charidy.com/stpeterscollege. Your contribution, no matter the size, will have a meaningful impact on future generations.

Thank you for your contribution and your continued support of St Peter’s College.
